vacation covid19 safety

during travel

Making stops along the way for gas, food, or bathroom breaks can put you and your traveling companions in
close contact with other people and surfaces, therefore increasing the chances of contracting the virus.

anticipate travel needs

  • Consider cleaning/disinfecting the interior of your vehicle before travel, including door handles.
  • Stay aware of what you touch and come in contact with during your travel.
  • Bring a face mask covering to wear in public places.
  • Wash your hands or use alcohol-based sanitizer.
  • Pack enough alcohol-based hand sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol) and keep it within easy reach.
  • Consider preparing food and water for your trip to lessen the need of stops and exposure to public places.

initial wipe down

Bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and all public areas at the beach house must be disinfected using anti-microbial
wipes, sprays, and other cleaning products. Each family is responsible for doing initial wipe down of their own
bedroom and bathroom. We will all work together to do an initial wipe down of all public areas of the beach
house to make sure that all surfaces are virus-free. This will be done as soon as we all arrive at the beach house.

safety rules & practices

  • Stay in the proximity of the beach house as much as possible, to avoid contact with non-family members. Prepare needed supplies/food ahead of time to avoid needing to go to the store.
  • As much as possible, stay 6 feet apart from each other.
  • AVOID DIRECT CONTACT with others (includes, but not limited to, touching, kissing, contact with oral secretions, or contact with body lesions).
  • WASH HANDS and/ or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer often.
  • Be aware of your VOCAL PRACTICES (yelling or loud speaking) to lessen the chance of transmitting micro particles to others.
  • DO NOT share dishes, drinking glasses, cups, or eating utensils. Non-disposable food service items used should be handled with gloves and washed with dish soap and hot water or in a dishwasher.
  • Sinks and countertops could be an infection source and should be cleaned often. Avoid placing toothbrushes directly on counter surfaces.
  • DO NOT crowd in one area. People should spread out throughout the house so that everyone can stay at least 6 feet apart from one another.
  • A person who start to show symptoms/gets sick must be isolated from the group, and should receive food in their room. This person should wear a mask at all times.
  • Consider wearing a mask when in shared spaces.
  • Use the finger pulse oxymeter (will be provided) to determine your SpO2/oxygen level if needed. Low oxygen (90 or below) is a good way to determine potential infection of coronavirus.
